Linux/MySQL: Find all database using innodb engine



If you are the Linux administrator that using full backup of your account, you will find out that the MySQL database full backup couldn’t help to restore your database.

Hence, you might want to schedule a full mysqldump backup for those databases that using the innodb engine.

To show all of your databases that using innodb engine, you may use the following command,

# mysql -N mysql -e "SELECT table_schema, table_name FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE engine = 'innodb';" | awk '{print $1}' | sort | uniq

Backup your Google Docs with GDocBackup

Ever think to backup your Google Docs Document as offline backup?

I am using GDocBackup to done it from my Windows Scheduled Task.
1. Download the GDocBackup with CMD version from here.
2. Extract the file to your PC.
3. Create a bat file and add into scheduled task. The bat content is as below,

mkdir "Backup\%date:~6,4%\%date:~0,2%"
GDocBackupCMD.exe -mode=backup -username=user [email protected] -destDir=D:\Backup\GDoc\Backup\%date:~6,4%\%date:~0,2% -docF=pdf -sprsF=xls -presF=ppt -drawF=pdf

Where you should replace your username, password and destDir to your own variable and the above bat file used to create the folder with year and month or you don’t need it.

exclude folder from cPanel backup

Many of the cPanel user do not know that their server administrator could exclude any of their folder from the cPanel cpbackup process and those folder could be exclude from backup to safe the disk space usage.

Or you could exclude any of your dynamic file(possible that you host some dump services such as RapidLeech) and you do not want to backup them.

You may actually exclude them easily from include the path to cpbackup-exclude.conf file.

1. Edit the file cpbackup-exclude.conf  from your /home/user folder.
2. Add the folder that wish to exclude from backup from cpbackup-exclude.conf  file.
3. You have done it.
