Enable Side Tabs in Google Chrome

If you are the regular user from Mozilla Firefox, you might want to have these feature for your Google Chrome as well. In this guide, I am showing how it is done from Windows 7.

First, you may go to the Windows button and locate the Google Chrome that been installed, right click it and get the properties.

Next, add “–enable-vertical-tabs” to the last sentence of Target link and press OK.

Lastly, launch your Google Chrome. Right click and select on the “Use side tabs”.

Well done, you have done it.

How to Disable Windows 7 Preview from Internet Browsers

Whoever used Windows 7, you should know the most excited feature from Windows 7 is it’s preview mode from the task bar.

However, not everyone enjoy the feature due to hardware restriction. Hence you might want to disable the preview mode from the task bar for several Internet Browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.

Mozilla Firefox

To disable Preview from Mozilla Firefox, you may open the firefox and enter “about:config” from the address bar. Then just proceed with the button of “I’ll be becareful, I promise!”. In the filter bar, enter browser.taskbar.previews, and set the value to false for browser.taskbar.previews.enable.

Google Chrome

To disable the preview mode from Google Chrome, you may refer to the step as below.

From your Windows, go to the directory of “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\“, go to the properties of chrome.exe, move to Compatible tab and set the compatibility mode. You may choose to have Windows Vista mode(any mode from Windows Vista will do).

Internet Explorer 8

With Internet Explorer 8, you may go to the tools and change the setting from Internet Options.

From the tabs Setting there, click on the Settings button and you are able to see the image as beside.

Just checked the button named “Show previews for individual tabs in the taskbar” and the previews should be removed.

How to install Firefox 3.6.6. in Ubuntu

In Ubuntu 10.04, it is uses Mozilla Firefox 3.5 by default, and you might need to wait(sometimes it is long times) for the Ubuntu team to approved the Firefox 3.6.6 to updates automatically.

To let yourself to get the latest Firefox installed manually, just follow the step as below.

1. Open the Terminal.
2. Type “sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa”
3. Enter the prompt administrator password and make sure your Firefox is closed.
4. Then Type “sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade” from the Terminal again.

It will update your Update list from Ubuntu and allow you to install Ubuntu 3.6.6. automatically.

Site Hacked and get alert from Google Safe Browsing

Sometime, you might see the Google Safe Browsing prompt when you browse to any of the website with Mozilla Firefox or any Internet Browser or even your own website.

You might wonder why you will getting these alert? There are many reasons.

1. Blame your webmaster who help you to upload your web file to the server and their PC got trojan, etc and indirectly infected your site.
2. If you are the one who upload or update the website content, please don’t surf porn site :-P, don’t surf free codec site, etc etc.
3. Try not to use shareware software where will come with the so called addon.
4. Lastly, blame your hosting server is not save.

By right, if you are the domain administrator and if your site get infected, all of the email as user ID below will get the notification.

Next, you should clean the malware or replace the hacked script.
1. Take down your website from public access.
2. Scan the script through the up-to-date Anti-Virus software.
3. Remove the attacked script or file.
4. Reset all password such as control panel, FTP, administrative section, etc.

Lastly, you should ask Google to review your website again.
1. Log into the Google Webmaster Tool.
2. Click on the Diagnostic and click on Malware.
3. Click request a review.
