rSync is one of the program use to copy the file from current host to remote host with great performance using update protocol when the file is exists.
Some benefit from rsync is as below.
– It will copy the file that existed by checking the last modified date.
– It supports to copy over the file permission, ownership and last modified date.
– does not required root privilege.
– support for anonymous or authenticated rsync servers (ideal for mirroring)
Basically, they are many ways to do the rsync as it allow many options where you may read from the man page as Mick Genie not going to introduce all of them.
The following command was normally used by Mick Genie when performing the file checking from migration of one server to another server.
rsync -e “ssh -p [xxxx]” -avz /home/username/ [email protected]:/home/username
where [xxxx] is the port number of your ssh and username is the cPanel account username, IP is the IP of the remote host.
